06/19: there can be miracles
🌺 🦋 🍒 All around you, they're everywhere, they're in you, they are you.
Good afternoon, and a happy Monday to you all. Quick question(s):
Do you believe in miracles?
Moments in the natural space-time continuum, bending and stretching?
The moment when a higher truth supersedes a natural truth?
When things that shouldn’t happen do anyway?
I used to think miracles were rare, that I might wait my whole life to see one. Maybe under the right conditions and with the right words and with the right incantations, one would happen. I prayed for miracles, many times over. I prayed for cancer-filled bodies, for babies in wombs, for animals on the street. I’ve laid my hands on tree trunks and looked intently at stormy skies. I am not sure if I’ve seen one yet, or at least in the way I had hoped to. The Catechism of the Catholic Church defines “miracle” as a sign or wonder such as a healing, or control of nature, which can only be attributed to divine power. But doesn’t that negate the underlying truth that divine power is running through everything? I believe it’s insufficient to limit this phenomenon in such a narrow framework.
